Construction: Week 46 - Ceilings and Doors

Having received the launch photos on Tuesday, the question was whether I would receive my regular Friday photos.  And the answer is...., well there they are.

The title of this article, "Ceilings and Doors," essentially summarizes what happened, at least cosmetically last week, as construction near the final stages of completion.

1. Tied to the dock

4. Boat Deck looking aft - No change

5. VIP stateroom

6. Guest stateroom
Two doors awaiting installation on VIP and forward head
Explanatory Note: A pocket door is used in the guest stateroom.  A regular door opening inward is used on the VIP stateroom.  The forward head has two doors.  One allows entry from the VIP and a second allow entry from the guest stateroom.

7. Master Stateroom
Gun locker door
Drawers on forward and aft cabinets
Door awaiting installation strapped to aft cabinet

8. Master stateroom looking forward
Door mounted on the starboard hanging locker (see note #1)
Another door awaiting installation (see note #1)
Worker installing door frame on the cabinet that houses the washer and dryer (see note #2)
Explanatory Notes:
  1. Doors: As you come down the stairs from the pilothouse, you enter the master stateroom via a pocket door.  The master head also uses a pocket door.  The door from the master stateroom to the engine room is a traditional door as are the doors to the hanging lockers and cabinets on the aft bulkhead.
  2. Washer & Dryer: I suspect they were installed with the other appliances as they were sitting on the floor next to the boat when I visited the yard in October.
8a. Washer & dryer awaiting installation

9. Pilot House

Cabinet door on the 24 volt electrical panel (right of the helm)

10. Galley looking aft

11. Salon looking forward

12. Salon looking aft

13. Engine room looking aft - no changes

14. Engine room looking forward - No change

15. Lazarette looking to port

16. Lazarette looking to starboard - No change

Time for a prediction: The sea trial will very likely take place this week.
