Chicago to Stuart - Day 192 - Stuart, FL

Our first trip home in 6 months was a whirlwind of fun activities.  We came home for Ann Scott's wedding, but, alas, we don't have a picture of the lovely bride.  Les got to see many of his colleagues from work, which was special.  He told them that he thought retirement was underrated!  If he had known it would be this much fun, he may have done it sooner!!

We got to see Dakota and Nathaniel, which is always wonderful.  Dakota now plays the violin and piano

and Nathaniel plays the cello

He also loves to build huge projects made out of legos

We got to see Corinna, Trevis, Micayla and Piper when Ioanna made a fabulous brunch for all of us.  The girls are adorable and we love seeing them all.

We also had a wonderful dinner that Laura made and Laura, Bob, Carl and Les and I watched the beginning of the Kennedy series on HBO.

Monday, our last evening in Chicago, we spent with Soph, Elena and Irene at a little restaurant on Halsted St.   They came over for a glass of wine before we left

Back to Stuart Tues. 4/5.  We picked up Kodi at Monika and Wilma's house.  Kodi loved it there - big yard, 2 nice people to spoil her.

We had dinner with Kodi's 2 new "aunts" Sat. 4/9 at Duffy's.  We have enjoyed gettiing to know them.

Kodi came to the restaurant with us, as did 2 little pet pigs at another table!!

Self explanatory
It was wonderful being home -- never enough time.

This week we looked at an Outer Reef  63', privately owned, but close to one for sale in Seattle.  It's a beautiful boat, but we concluded that Seattle would make it too complicated right now.  We're really quite happy on our 48.

Today we had a follow up visit with the vet.  Kodi's leg is healing nicely.  We also did a ton (well almost) of laundry at a coin operated laundramat -- easier to do it all at once; resupplied our cupboards and then returned our rental car.   It was 90 degrees today and hot enough that Kodi would alternately pull up her feet as she walked on the sundrenched dock.

Time to head north -- we leave for Vero Beach in the morning.
